Bryan Pritchett focuses his practice on the representation of those injured on the job throughout the entire state of Georgia. Prior to joining Cruz & Associates in January 2005, Mr. Pritchett spent several years working at some of the largest insurance defense firms in Georgia, representing insurance companies and employers in Workers’ Compensation and liability claims. He took this invaluable experience and used it to his advantage once he went into practice as a plaintiffs’ attorney in late 2004.
Mr. Pritchett has tried numerous cases before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation. In addition, he has argued appeals before the Appellate Division of the State Board of Workers’ Compensation, various Superior Courts, and the Court of Appeals of Georgia. Mr. Pritchett successfully argued an appeal before the Court of Appeals, Renu Thrift Store, Inc. v. Figueroa, 649 S.E.2d 528 (Ga. Ct. App. 2007), which further expanded on the rights of injured worker when benefits are paid late pursuant to O.C.G.A. 34-9-221(b) as well as further defining the limits an insurance company can claim on an alleged overpayment pursuant to O.C.G.A. 34-9-245.
He is a member of the of the Workers’ Compensation section of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. Born in Marietta, Georgia, Mr. Pritchett knew he wanted to pursue a career in law from an early age, and he was trained as a certified mediator while a high school student through the Cobb County Juvenile Court. He received both his B.A. and his law degree from the University of Georgia, where he focused his education and legal study in trial practice and procedure, working under the Third Year Practice Act through the District Attorney’s Office in the Alcovy Judicial Circuit.
