Atlanta, GA — Atlanta, GA — Cruz & Associates has been named the recipient of the 2026 Community Award at the 37th Annual Compañeros Awards, presented by the Latin American Association (LAA). Founder Ruben Cruz will accept the honor on behalf of the firm, recognizing Cruz & Associates’ longstanding commitment to serving and uplifting Georgia’s Latino community.
For more than 35 years, Cruz & Associates has represented injured workers and accident victims in workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. While the firm is widely known for its legal advocacy, its impact extends far beyond the courtroom through sustained community engagement, charitable initiatives, and partnerships that strengthen Latino families across Georgia.
Beyond legal advocacy, Cruz & Associates has become a trusted partner to organizations working on the front lines of food insecurity and community support across metro Atlanta. Through ongoing financial contributions and volunteer efforts, the firm collaborates with partners such as the Asociación Latinoamericana and the Atlanta Community Food Bank to help ensure Latino families have access to essential resources—especially during times of crisis.
In addition to its community service efforts, Cruz & Associates plays an active role in strengthening leadership development and education within the Latino community. The firm supports organizations that promote the professional and academic growth of emerging leaders, including Hispanic Organization Promoting Education (HoPe), Hispanic Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (HYPE), Latina Leads, and Colombianitos, among others. Complementing these efforts is the firm’s own Alcanzando Un Sueño Scholarship Program, which for more than 14 years has helped Latino students begin their college education—opening the door to greater opportunities and leadership in their communities.
“Receiving the Community Award is an honor, but it truly reflects the values of our entire team at Cruz & Associates,” said Cruz. “Our commitment has always been to serve not only our clients, but the community as a whole. This recognition motivates us to continue building programs and partnerships that create real opportunities for families across Georgia.”
Presented annually by the Latin American Association, the Compañeros Awards recognize individuals and organizations making a lasting impact on Georgia’s Latino community through leadership, service, and collaboration.
